My Profile

About Me:

Having played games from a very young age, I was always astounded by the experience that their visuals could produce. I loved the way that the experience with a game could stick with a person for a lifetime and wanted to try and recreate that magic for people in the future. I picked up Fusion 360 in 2016 for a CAD project named F1 in Schools and loved creating 3D objects for others to see and creating them in real life through means such as a 3D printer, a hobby that I still have to this day.

I began my journey with art in 2018 after discovering a love of traditional acrylic landscape painting on canvas. Since then I have been working hard to expand my horizons into creating art suitable for games both traditionally and digitally in a multitude of styles, mediums and programs such as Krita, Maya, MagicaVoxel and many more.

Influences on my Work:

A large part of the start of my love for environment art comes from Bob Ross and "the Joy of Painting", many of my acrylic and oil canvas paintings are a result of his tutorials. His shows taught me the basics of composing a landscape and depicting it in an interesting and unique way.

Jordan Grimmer is a digital environment concept artist who has, in recent years, inspired me to be bolder with landscapes and to use a more conceptual process with them. My pixel art pieces are heavily inspired around the types of scenes he can produce with his digital art.

One of my earliest memories of a game is that of "Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story" for the Nintendo DS. The way that the 2D pixel art and storytelling of that game have stuck in my mind throughout so many years are a large part of why I want to pursue both art and game design as a career.
